Lil Guppies Scuba School Branding Suite

The Lil’ Guppies Scuba School logo was designed using Illustrator. Lil’ Guppies Scuba School is a new business that wants to provide young children with opportunities to learn how to swim, scuba dive and learn water safety in a fun and safe environment. While brainstorming for this design, I visited websites of swimming schools that focused on teaching children. With that in mind, the colors chosen for this logo were blue and orange. Orange, which is a common color found in guppies, represents confidence and youthfulness, while blue, which is associated to water, represents trust, peace and loyalty, values that guardians look for in a school for their children. These colors were included to a logo symbol that represents guppies. These design choices convey what the company provides and at the same time, it can attract potential students. The typeface was previously freehanded, however, after receiving feedback from peers, I decided to choose another typeface that was more legible. I also added a mockup of a potential business card for the school. The logo is meant to appeal to both children and their guardians and therefore, contains bright colors and elements that would attract a child and stands out to guardians that might be looking for a scuba school for their children. When reworking this design, I stayed within the original requirements, but redesigned the logo completely to apply the feedback received. Changing the typeface improved legibility of the logo.
