Houseplants Magazine Cover design

This project was created with Adobe InDesign. Its purpose was to redesign a print magazine cover. In the creation of this design, I adhered to the main assignment specifications, however I just focused on the cover of the magazine and did not create other content pages. While revisiting this project, I made some changes in the layout and typography, as well as adding elements that would make the magazine look more realistic. For example, in this design, I changed the typeface to a more legible sans-serif type, implemented different font weights to emphasize certain words on the cover and added solid-color shapes behind text to create a better contrast. Amongst the feedback received was making the cover look more realistic, which prompted me to add elements such as a barcode and issue date. These realistic elements alongside creating a mockup of the design, helped me showcase how the design would look like in real life.
